Community Food Connection provides one bag of food to each family that asks for assistance. Families may return after two weeks. To sign up, clients are asked to bring a picture form of ID (Not their Social security number) - driver's license or green card is fine... we can also accept food stamp card numbers...... They need to have birth dates and names of every member of their household.

| As of Oct. 1, 2008, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The new name reflects the changes we’ve made to meet the needs of our clients, including a focus on nutrition and an increase in benefit amounts. |
 |
| SNAP is the federal name for the program. State programs may have different names. |

Food for Blount Contains
No one in this country
expects to find themselves
one day in need of food yet
it happens to many Americans
every day. We never know
what tomorrow will bring due
to illness, loss of
employment, disabilities and
many other reasons. Please
do not let your pride
prevent you or your loved
ones from eating. There are
many Blount Countians able
and willing to help their
fellow citizens. If we as a
County cannot help one |
|
another during hard times
then we just as well quit
living. Don't be ashamed to
ask for food. |

We ask
anyone who will to come and sup with
us on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and
Friday evenings at the Lord's
Disciples in Maryville. You are also
invited to fellowship with us after
the meal on Monday evenings but only
if you feel the need to do so. All
food is freely given and is given
without conditions... just come and
eat. If you cannot get to us we will
bring the meal to you...

There are many
faiths represented
in this web site.
And even though some
differ in beliefs I
will not exclude
them based upon my
own convictions. My
prayer is that those
seeking aid will
find not only find
spiritual comfort
but find relief for
their immediate
burdens be they
physical, mental or
spiritual.
